FAQs
I am unsure of my ring size, what should I do?
No worries! If you are unsure of your ring size please get in touch: [email protected]
I am in-between ring sizes, can you accommodate this?
If you are in-between sizes, please send a quick email to [email protected] once you have ordered to let me know.
I am not local to Brighton, can I order/commission a piece remotely?
Absolutely! If you are not local to Brighton or can’t make a visit, we can arrange a phone call consultation or discuss your order via email.
How long will my order take to make?
Orders usually take around 8 weeks. If I am searching for something specific for you then this may take a little longer.
What can you tell me about the gold you use?
I am now using Fairtrade gold for almost all new jewellery items. This is a recent and exciting change I have made to my business. All items are hallmarked and come with my unique makers mark.
Are your stones ethically sourced?
I deal with a small selection of trusted suppliers who source ethical and environmentally responsible diamonds, adhering to the Kimberly process. I have recently been using more laboratory grown diamonds and gemstones so please get in touch if you are interested.
Do you provide certification for your diamonds?
Many diamonds do not come with their own certificate but I would be more than happy to source a certified stone for you. Certification can often impact the cost of the stone and therefore the overall price of the piece. Rather than looking for the highest colour or clarity, I search for stones with the most life, sparkle and character.
Why is my gemstone slightly different to the one photographed?
I carefully select each and every gemstone and diamond, only choosing ones which really stand out to me. If you make an order online, there may be slight variations in colour to the piece photographed. This is normal as no two jewels are exactly the same.
I have an heirloom stone, can I use it in one of your designs?
Unfortunately, I do not take on commissions using heirloom stones.
Do you make bespoke pieces?
Most items can be customised and will incur an extra fee of approximately £300. If you are looking for something bespoke, please fill out the form here.
What are the payment terms for bespoke commissions?
A 50% deposit is required before work can begin on your bespoke order. The final payment will need to be made once the piece is finished and before it is collected or shipped out.
How will my item be delivered?
The buyer is responsible for any shipping costs to and from the studio. UK orders are sent via royal mail special delivery which is an insured next day service, requiring a signature upon arrival. Royal mail special deliveries arrive between 9am and 1pm.
Can you ship my jewellery item in an unmarked parcel to keep it a surprise?
For insurance reasons, ‘Rosie Clayden’ needs to be visible on the returns address. To avoid ruining the surprise, your item could be shipped to your workplace or to a friend. Please note, an adult will need to be available to sign for the parcel.
How will my item arrive?
Your jewellery item will arrive in a small box with a hand written note from myself. It will be inside a padded envelope to ensure it is safe on its journey to you.
Will my jewellery item come with a valuation document?
If your jewellery item is over £1000 then I can provide a valuation document for you. You can use this document to insure the piece. Please note, I can only make valuations for items I have made myself.
Do you ship internationally?
I am currently only shipping within the UK. Check back soon.
The ring I ordered doesn’t fit, are you able to resize it?
Of course. I offer one free re-sizing if returned within the first 30 days of receiving your ring.
What is your returns policy?
I hope that you are happy with your item of jewellery. If for any reason you are not entirely satisfied I would be happy to offer an exchange or a credit note within 30 days of making your purchase. Alternatively, a refund can be made to you if the item is returned unworn and in perfect condition, again within 30 days. Bespoke or customised pieces are exempt.
